Heroes Episode Guide

Chapter 1 - Genesis aka In his own image
Different characters are introduced as they find out their individual abilities, including a man who paints pictures of the future, a woman who sees a different side of her in the mirror, a teen-aged girl who can not die, a Japanese man who thinks he can alter the time/space continuum and a man running for congress, who has a brother that believes he can fly.

Chapter 2 - Don't look back
Nathan refuses to admit that he can fly. Peter discovers that his father had depressions and killed himself. Someone in Mohinder's apartment plants surveillance bugs, but he and his father's friend discover them. Hiro finds a comic book that shows exactly what happened to him last episode. The author of the comic book is Isaac and he goes to his apartment. There he finds Isaac dead. Niki realizes that her mirror alter ego is helping her in tough situations. We meet Matt, a cop who can hear what people say before they say it, who gets arrested for a murder because thanks to his gift he knows suspiciously much about it. And Claire continues to hide the truth about her, until her father, the evil man looking for our "heroes", sees her tape where she shows her abilities.

Chapter 3 - One giant leap
Hiro gets back to Japan and using Issac's comic book he persuades Ando to help him save the world. They go back to the US. Nathan says officially that his brother is crazy and it upsets Pete, who is struggling to fly again. Claire gets killed and wakes up during the autopsy and Matt sees a mysterious man while helping to investigate the murders from last episode. Meanwhile, Mohinder discovers a strange apartment and Niki drives her son to his grandmother where we learn that Niki's husband is wanted for murder.

Chapter 4 - Collision
Hiro and Ando arrive to Vegas, where they gamble and win thanks to Hiro's powers. Niki is also taken to Las Vegas, where the mob boss she owes money to wants her to pay. Mohinder meets with Pete, who in the meanwhile, is starting to think that his power is absorbing powers of other people. Claire, after escaping the autopsy room, takes a dark turn in dealing with the quarterback who tried to rape her. Nathan is going to Las Vegas too, and he is seduced by Niki, who is ordered to sleep with him by the mob boss, so he can blackmail Nathan with inappropriate photos. In the end, a message comes from a dark and evil future.

Chapter 5 - Hiro's
Niki is questioned by police about her fugitive husband's whereabouts; Matt's relationship with his wife, Janice, benefits from his mind-reading abilities; Claire divulges her secret to her father; Hiro has a violent run-in with Las Vegas high rollers; Peter receives a life-changing message; and Mohinder contemplates leaving New York - and his father's research - behind

Chapter 6 - Better halves
Hiro and his buddy embark on their heroic journey to New York, when they are stopped by a Vegas high-roller who offers them a deal they can't refuse. As H.R.G sets up a meeting for his daughter Claire with her biological parents, she hopes that questions about her newfound indestructibility can be answered. Meanwhile, Isaac receives another confusing call from Hiro, but Peter is there this time to pick up the phone and relay a life-saving message. Suresh bids farewell to Eden as he heads back to India to bury his father. An unexpected visitor shows up at Niki's home.

Chapter 7 - Nothing to hide
Facing a crisis involving her son Micah, a distraught Niki reveals her recent personal struggles to a friend. Pushing aside his own issues at home, Matt assists Audrey's investigation into another bizarre murder, but their pursuit of mysterious serial killer Sylar takes an unexpected turn. After failing to act like a "superhero" when faced with danger, Hiro questions his heroism. Nathan and his wife Heidi strategize how to win the congressional election. Claire is shocked to learn where her missing tape wound up. Meanwhile, her father H.R.G. ("Horn-Rimmed Glasses") is disturbed by news from one of his associates.

Chapter 8 - Seven minutes to midnight
Back in India to mourn the passing of his father, Suresh encounters mysterious dreams of the past that force him to question what path to take next. Continuing their journey to New York, Hiro and Ando stop at a diner and meet someone interesting. In crisis, Niki comes to a personal understanding. Determined to see one of Isaac's paintings that Simone recently sold, Peter asks Nathan for help in finding a key to the future. Intent on getting back to her normal life, Claire focuses on Homecoming preparations, unaware of what's to come. Meanwhile, H.R.G. and a surprising associate focus their attentions on another "hero".

Chapter 9 - Homecoming
As Homecoming approaches in Odessa, Claire's father makes an effort to save Claire's life. Peter, having tried to contact Hiro, flies to Texas in his effort to save the cheerleader. Hiro decided to head back in time in an effort to save the waitress, and Suresh can't get a dream out of his head and feels it has some answers about him and his father.

Chapter 10 - Six months ago...
As the clock turns back six months for all of the "Heroes", Mohinder's father Chandra Suresh arrives in New York to begin his quest to find individuals with extraordinary abilities, and meets someone all too eager to be special. Peter celebrates his graduation from nursing school, and learns that Nathan plans to prosecute a case that could mean trouble for the entire Petrelli family. A surprise visit from her father brings out the worst in Niki. Hiro attempts to be a hero and change the future for someone important. Claire joins the cheerleading squad and makes a curious discovery. H.R.G. and the Haitian meet someone special.

Chapter 11 - Fallout
The tragic events in Texas have sad, serious repercussions for many of the "heroes", their families and friends. Meanwhile, shocking details about the moments leading up to Isaac's predicted New York City nuclear bombing are revealed. Later, Issac's newest painting has fascinating future implications for a hero in crisis. Suresh takes the first steps along his new path. Matt and F.B.I. Agent Audrey Hanson pursue a break in the Sylar case. Horrified by Jessica's recent actions, Niki makes a tough decision to protect her family.

Chapter 12 - Godsend
Nathan stops at nothing when it comes to getting some kind of help for his unconscious brother. Hiro goes on a hunt for the sword he's seen in Isaac's paintings. Nikki tries to convince the police of her need for help in dealing with her split personality.

Chapter 13 - The fix
Hiro continues to search for a sword while being chased by mysterious figures. An invisible man named Claude has something to teach one of the heroes. D.L. takes on new family responsibilities, and Matt opens up to his wife. H.R.G. continues to focus on the captive Sylar. Claire seeks out the Haitian and then her birth parents. Mohinder looks for those on the list, and receives a surprise visitor. A psychiatrist offers to help Niki.

Chapter 14 - Distractions
Hiro deals with explaining his new heroic path in life to his ambitious sister and tycoon father. Niki has the chance to reunite with D.L and Micah. Claude's mentoring of Peter leads Peter to question those closest to him. Claire goes to a trailer park looking for her birth mother. Sylar wears a disguise and makes a move against HRG.

Chapter 15 - Run!
Matt enters the private security business and receives an objectionable client. Suresh finds another person on the list. As her home-life worsens, Claire strives to learn more about her birth parents. Hiro and Ando get sidetracked in Vegas again while searching for the sword. Nathan is forced to deal with a secret from his past. Still indebted to Mr. Linderman, Jessica resorts to unsavory methods that could spell doom for a fellow hero.

Chapter 16 - Unexpected
Peter learns that he and Claude may have been betrayed. Matt's reunited with the radioactive Ted Sprague and Hana Gitelman a woman with "wireless" mental abilities. Hiro makes a tough choice about his mission. Claire can no longer hold back her anger towards HRG.

Chapter 17 - Company man
Matt Parkman and Ted Sprague arrive in Texas in search of answers and take HRG and his family hostage. More is revealed about Mr. Bennet, the agency for which he works, and how he found Claire.

Chapter 18 - Parasite
As the election and destruction of New York approach, Nathan meets up with Linderman. Hiro attempts to steal the sword heading him in a new path. Suresh and Sylar make progress with the list at great cost. D.L. begins to suspect problems at home. Isaac paints an even more terrible painting. A new hero, Candice Wilmer, appears.

Chapter 19 - 0.07%
Sylar and Peter face off. Sylar will face off with another Hero and Isaac's new pictures show a dead Hero without a brain. Two unexpected reunions will occur and Linderman will reveal to Nathan shocking secrets and plans. A hero dies.

Chapter 20 - Five years gone
Hiro and Ando find themselves five years after the destruction of New York City. People with extraordinary abilities are labeled as terrorists and are being registered, hunted, and killed. Hiro and Ando meet up with darker versions of the other heroes in preparation for a showdown with the President. This includes a darker side of Matt, a Jessica/Niki with a clear winner in their battle, a brown-haired Claire, and a man named Andy, who's a big hearted Texan. It also features an event at an upscale gentleman's club.

Chapter 21 - The hard part
Jessica and D.L. discover some of the stuff that Linderman wants from them and Micah. Sylar questions his path when he realizes what he is predestined to do and reunites with his mother to seek validation. Hiro and Ando follow him, and Hiro's resolve is tested when he realizes the enormity of killing another human being. Meanwhile, Angela Petrelli tries to convince Nathan to go along with Linderman's plan. And Peter tries to prove to Claire that they are both destined to save New York. Also there is a new hero who is supposed to be holding the key to stopping Sylar.

Chapter 22 - Landslide
Angela Petrelli is forced to play a bigger role in Nathan, Peter, and Claire's life. The truth about the death of Nathan and Peter's father is finally revealed along with his true identity. When Nathan finds out that he may have a chance to become more than a Congressman, he is confronted with a decision that he must make. As election day nears some try to leave NYC. HRG and Matt learn another surprising secret. Also, Sylar is eating another hero's brain. Hiro's dad returns.

Chapter 23 - How to stop an exploding man
With Isaac's horrible predictions all unfolding before them, the everyday people with extraordinary abilities face moments of pain and peril in Kirby Plaza with unflinching heroism, as "Heroes" first volume comes to a close - and the next surprisingly begins.
