Dean Winchester
His past
Dean was four years old when his mother was killed. He's the one
who carried his baby brother Sam out of the house on his father's
orders. From that moment on, Dean has dedicated his life to three
things: following his dad's instructions, fighting demons, and protecting
Sam. He learned how to shoot a gun at six years old when his father
trained him by using bottles as targets. Dean bullseyed every last
one of them. To this day, this is still one of his fondest memories
of his dad.
When Dean was about ten years old, his dad's hunting took them
to Wisconsin. John left for a few days to hunt with strict instructions
that Dean was to look after Sam and not let him out of his sight.
One night, after Sam was asleep, Dean left the motel room to go
play some video games. When he came back, he found a Shtriga bent
over Sam, sucking the life out of him. He knew he had to shoot it,
but he froze on the spot. Luckily, John appeared in time to save
Sam, but Dean has carried the guilt with him ever since. He knew
he had disappointed his father and needed to redeem himself. When
he was sixteen, Dean joined his dad on hunting trips.
His love life
While on a job with his dad in Ohio, Dean met a young woman named
Cassie Robinson. She was a student there (in Athens) and the two
had a brief relationship that ended when Dean told Cassie what he
did for a "living". His heart broken, Dean left and never
again talked about Cassie until he met her again a few years later
while searching for his father. The feelings he had for Cassie are
still very much alive, but she doesn't seem to love him enough to
overlook his dedication to saving lives by hunting demons.
Live hard, die young...
While rescuing two young children from some freaky creature, Dean
accidentally electrocuted himself and was given only a few weeks
to live by the doctors. Unable to accept his brother's impending
death, Sam searched for a way out and took Dean to see a faith healer
named Roy LeGrange. While it turned out that Roy was no faith healer
(he was actually channeling a reaper), Dean was still returned to
full health. He still feels remorse that he got to live because
that meant another man died to save him.
A few months later, Dean again almost died after the Demon that
killed his mom possessed his dad and tortured him. While those injuries
might not have proved fatal, the Demon went on to possess a semi-truck
driver who crashed his truck into the Impala while the three Winchester
boys were driving. Sam and John got out with minor injuries, but
Dean was in a coma and encountered a reaper who informed him that
his time had come. He refused to believe it and fought to come back
to life, but the battle seemed lost until the Demon channeled the
reaper and told him that this was his lucky day. Dean woke up only
to learn later on that the only reason he is still alive is because
his dad sacrificed himself to save him. The guilt he is carrying
around is slowly eating him alive and has made him even more of
a loose cannon.
Evading the law
While in St Louis to work a case, Dean became a suspect in the
attack of a young woman when a shapeshifter stole his "identity".
The shapeshifter was killed while still using Dean's body, so the
St Louis Police assumed that Dean Winchester was dead and had in
fact most propably killed two previous victims.
However, that assumption has since been revised when Dean was arrested
for a murder he didn't commit in Baltimore, Maryland. It was later
revealed that the cop who arrested Dean was in fact the killer and
his partner and lover - Diana - let Dean and Sam go, assuring them
that she could get the charges dismissed. Sadly enough, there wasn't
a thing she could do about the St Louis charges, so Dean is back
to being hunted by the Police and, even worse, the FBI.
